Join us for the National German Exam Awards Ceremony and Reception on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Student Center Building (2nd Floor, Hillberry A, see campus map) at Wayne State University. The event is made possible by the Uwe K. Faulhaber Endowment for Applied German Studies at WSU.
To coordinate the attendance of students, parents, and their teachers for the awards ceremony, all teachers need to submit a final list of attendees to Mitch Place at email@example.com and Mark Ferguson firstname.lastname@example.org.
During the ceremony we will recognize Michigan students (and their teachers) who scored 90% or higher on the 2016 National German Exam. This year 14 German teachers administered the test, and 67 Michigan students achieved the prestigious Goldurkunde! Those students were also eligible to apply for the AATG-PAD Study Trip to Germany, and Testing Chair Mitchell Place (GVSU) reports that we had 6 applicants for the trip. Telephone interviews were completed in March and the names of 3 finalists sent to the National Office. Thank you to all teachers for this tremendous achievement!
A special Dankeschön to Mark Ferguson from the Department of Classical and Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at WSU for hosting this important and joyful event to honor the many excellent German students in our state. Ein großes Dankeschön also to Mitchell Place (GVSU) for his excellent work as testing chair and to Kevin Neitzert (GVSU) for conducting some of the interviews.
